About the Project

Overlooking the Oregon Coast near Coos Bay, with views out to a historic lighthouse, this remodel reimagines a coastal home around mass timber and natural light.

Exposed timber beams and columns bring warmth to a two-story great room, where an open mezzanine and a sculptural spiral stair connect the levels. Large window walls frame the ocean, the lighthouse and the surrounding forest, while a timber-framed skylight roof fills the upper atrium with daylight.

The mass timber shell carries through to the exterior, with warm wood cladding and tall window openings that connect every level of the home to its coastal setting.
